There is very springy elastic inside which extends from the clip area & continues around to the back so the back of the gown “floats” freely

I purchased this vintage evening sweater in a vintage store in Tucson, AZ many decades ago. The sweater is "Two Ply Imported Cashmere" as stated on the label in which is under the sheer lining inside the sweater. The original tag from the vintage store is still on the sweater as I did nt remove it. The sweater is soft and luxurious
