The deformation point of plastics is much higher than metal so a sharper tip angle allows for this to be overcome much more easily without having to increase the force

MB8020 Magnetic Foot Pin 215mm(D) x 264mm(W)This foot replaces the standard foot. It has two rare earth magnets, one on each side. This foot holds the unit completely steady for a perfect mark every time on flat surfaces. The magnets also hold the unit secure over the top of small tags and through non magnetic plates for example: 1 2mm aluminium plate tags. If you are marking on a flat surface this accessory is highly recommended.
