the wine splashes down on the palate with an amazing mouthfeel

The fruit is dried up

The palate has more density than a lot of Chianti Classico and is quite insistent in terms of grip

This is a huge and powerful wine with overtly muscular flavors that ooze both minerality and tannin-buffering extract before culminating in a lavish finish of spectacular length

Reduction currently dominates the fruit but my sense is that it won’t last once the wine has been racked

Notes of earth, dark berries and the sauvage introduce textured, supple and very round medium weight flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the mildly austere finish that delivers acceptable depth and length. This is perfectly good but nowhere near as good as several other of the Giroud villages wines. (87 89) 2022+
