I very much like the depth and while not quite as structured as the Clos de Vougeot this will require an extended snooze in a cool cellar to realize its full

slightly atypical sense of levity and delicacy that I find delightful

but it will be a vintage similar to 2001 that will take a long time to really show its best

Magrez Fombrauge Vintage:2003 As one would reasonably expectI would have given this wine a slightly higher rating but the new oak has been pushed to the limit. Along with the toasty vanillin characteristics, the wine exhibits notes of graphite and black cherry liqueur, medium to full body, and impressive purity as well as elegance. It does not have the size of the 2003, but it is concentrated and successful for a right bank 2002. Drink it over the next 8 10 years.
