It is made from teak and holds all of its original handmade metal work including the handles, hinges, lock plates and bands. Unfortunately, there are 2 metal bands missing from the top but this does not take away from the authentic beauty of this chest. It has a hidden compartment within the chest and it is mounted on wheels. Traditionally, marriage chests in India were used to transport and store the
