Description
The 2017 is no exception
Pierre Lurton and technical director Pierre-Olivier Clouet told me that the final blend is 72% merlot and 28% cabernet franc (it was 75% merlot and 25% cabernet franc during the Primeurs)
full and sweet broad-scaled yet elegant flavors that are solidly structured and firm on the detailed and wonderfully intense finish
The wine is amazing expressive now
this offers good potential for drinking over the next decade – but no further
Pavillon Blanc Vintage:2005 The 2017 is no exceptionThe 2014 Pavillon Blanc de Chteau Margaux is just a bit anonymous on the nose, despite encouragement. The palate is sharp on the entry, very edgy and sharp, verging on sour lemon mixed with lime and peach towards the finish. This is one of the few Bordeaux dry whites that improved with aeration and I ended up giving a higher score. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting. Neal Martin
