"Hanging Daily Wash", by Charles Truman, Amer., (20th Cent.) RareLithograph, ca. 1940s, Ed. 25, signed & titled vertically in pencil in the side margins, on cream wove paper. The choice to sign and title vertically is interesting, especially given this is an impression from Truman's edition of 25, as opposed to a working proof. Such quirks affirm an artist's individuality, and subtly challenge staid conventions. I've never seen another impression of this print, nor was I even aware of Charles Truman before finding
with a subtle manipulation of the ink to articulate the fading after glow of the setting sun
