Henri Bonneau Les Rouliers NV MAGNUM (pre 2016) BB2019I managed to secure a single magnum of the late Henri Bonneau's Les Rouliers NV in 2019. This wine was made by Bonneau and is a collection of the 2 3 vintages prior to 2016, the year he died. The wine comes from a vineyard on the other side of the Rhne River, outside and just north west of CNDP, in an area known as The Gard. Accordingly, Bonneau simply labels it as Vin de France not CNDP. As for the varietal makeup, all I can say with certainty is

polished tannins

91-93 points Vinous

and gravity bottling after up to 24 months in oak

"The 1997 Grange (a blend of 96% Shiraz and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon) looks to be a classic Grange

but there’s no doubt the 2018 is among the best

It’s quite saline on the finish with a pinch of white pepper

Blackcurrant and redcurrant flavours come soaked in milk chocolate

Tannins flow into a lacy plume at the finish
