The old Pekin pattern was one of the more popular designs released by J&G Meakin under their Royal Staffordshire trade name
All the items are cream in colour with beautiful bright pink roses and rose buds decorating each piece and lavish gold trim on the rims of each item
The firm has very limited information available but they also used the trade name “Valiant Plate” and appear to have been purchased or taken over by Pinder Bros
Across the 1960s and 1970s they produced a wonderful range of floral and abstract designs relevant to both eras
The item is stamped Viners Stainless Steel Empire

Alpacca has the same specific weight as genuine silver and looks virtually the same also, but is not silver. Alpacca pieces are generally South American in origin.
