They are considered suitable for use under low pressure conditions (see ISO 6194 1: 2007, 6. 1). This part of ISO 6194 specifies general test requirements for rotary shaft lip type seals. The tests may be used for qualification purposes. NOTE ISO 6194 is complementary to ISO 16589 which covers seals incorporating thermoplastic sealing elements.
