The extender is considered a helpful accessory when the weaver is 5' 6" or taller or has long legs. It is most economical to add the height extender when ordering thethe loom, as longer treadles are also required. If a height extender is added to an existing loom, holes will need to be drilled, but it's a simple fix if needed.
